Intermediate - Senior Interior Designer

Job Description

We are searching for a Senior Interior Designer to work on high end residential projects. The candidate must have experience with project management and have strong design sensibilities and be familiar with all aspects of the process from concept/ design/ budgets/ construction drawings and including contract administration. Preference will be given to candidates who have Revit experience. Commercial Multifamily and/or high end single family residential project work is an asset.

Qualifications & Skill Sets

  • Knowledge and working experience of Revit is essential
  • Must be able to follow office standards
  • Sketch-up or other 3-D programs are essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Alberta Building Code is an asset

Contract Administrator

Job Description

We are searching for a Contract Administrator with min. 7 years of experience in CA work.

The candidate will be directly responsible for the comprehensive and timely administration of all project related documentation and information during the construction phase. The individual will represent the Shugarman Architecture and Design Inc. in all construction project meetings and other field matters, relating to the construction of the project. The candidate can be Edmonton or Calgary based; most project work related in Edmonton, willingness to travel a minimum 1 night a week.

Qualifications & Skill Sets

  • At a minimum the candidate must have an Architectural Technologist Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and/ or a degree in a related post-secondary institution.
  • 7+ years related experience in the production of contract documents, contract administration or direct construction experience
  • Local and Canadian experience in Commercial, Residential, and Hospitality will be given preference to.
  • Strong negotiation skills, leadership ability working with construction site personnel and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Building Code, Specification, Building Science and Construction Contract proficiency as well as proficient knowledge of Contract Administration forms and procedures
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of project design process, detailing, specifications, and overall building systems
  • Strong experience in directing, mentoring and coordinating project teams

Intermediate and Senior Architectural Technologist

We are searching for an Intermediate Architectural Technologist with minimum 2 years of experience and a Senior Architectural Technologist with minimum of 5 years experience. Must be proficient in Revit, have experience in multi-family high rise and Contract Administration.

The candidate’s responsibilities will and not be limited to:

- Production of contract documents
- Preparation of design presentations
- Coordination with sub consultants
- Building code research & building product research
- Assisting with and/or managing Contract Administration services

Qualifications & Skill Sets

  • Graduate from a recognized Architectural Technologists Program.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a technologist in an architectural firm.
  • Knowledge of Building Code an asset
  • Knowledge of commercial and residential construction
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Revit is essential
  • Efficient use of AutoCAD is required
  • Sketch-up or another 3-D program an asset
  • Well organized with good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
