Location:

Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Employment Type:

Full-Time

Responsibilities:

The core of this role is one of strong critical architectural design ideation, and the ability to execute that design idea through design development, and then to assist in carrying concepts through IFC as required.
Work collaboratively in small and cohesive teams, taking direction from but also assisting and advancing the work of principals or other senior design leads.
Improve our already high standard of design and detailing. Provide fresh ideas that build upon our proven and recognized growing body of work.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone that understands design quality is based on a strong conceptual point of departure, that is aligned with program, site, and budget. But a candidate that also has enough experience to conceptualize solutions that can be practically implemented - thus candidates need enough experience in built project work to understand material detailing and construction realities
Fluency in Revit
Experience with a recognized design-forward firm is a must
Experience in hospitality (hotels + restaurants). Actions work, multi-family, and single-family is a strong asset
Experience in other typologies is a plus
Experience with managing subordinates is a plus, but not required
We are looking for candidates with experience in other design forward firms, who may be interested in a smaller boutique environment or are simply looking for exposure to a wide variety of project scales and typologies

Responsibilities:

The core of this role is one of strong critical interior design ideation, and the ability to execute that design idea through design development.
We are looking for someone that can improve our already high standard of interior design and detailing. This includes bringing in fresh ideas and someone that understands interior quality is based on a strong conceptual point of departure that is aligned with the architecture, and that is then layered with refined material selection, pattern, texture, and detailing.
Work collaboratively in small and cohesive teams, taking direction from, but also assisting and advancing the work of senior project design architects.Architecture and interiors go hand-in-hand in our practice.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with experience in other recognized design-forward firms, who may be interested in a smaller boutique environment, or are simply looking for exposure to a wide variety of project scales and typologies.
Fluency in Revit.
Experience in hospitality (hotels and restaurants), and single family is a must. Experience in other typologies is also a plus.
Experience in FFE selection and design is a strong plus, and experience in procurement is a benefit but not required.
Experience with managing subordinates is a plus, but not required.
Experience working in small teams and directing technologist in detailing design intent through construction documentation is a plus.
Strong experience in using lighting as a design tool.
