The city of Airdrie is the 4^th largest Alberta Municipality in Alberta by population. It is growing quickly and like many municipalities is working to develop a unique and sustainable economic and social urban centre. Specifically it is working with numerous consultants to improve its downtown public realm and commercial tax base.

Shugarman Architecture and Design has been working with the City of Airdrie in targeted stakeholder engagement, and by providing visioning documents for use in conveying possible future downtown outcomes.
