SA+D was retained by The Town of Canmore to assist with the Canmore Connect Downtown Town Centre Area Redevelopment Plan (“ARP”)—a framework to guide the continued growth, change, and evolution of Canmore’s downtown for the next 25 years.

We strategically identified sample sites within the Connect Downtown area where we completed commercial, residential, and mixed-use test fit developments to determine suitable development policies and the viability of the draft land-use plan. Our team also shared recommendations for additional policy changes notincluded in the original draft plan, and produced aspirational renders and siteplans to highlight the proposed change, and for the Town to use as a marketinginstrument.

Our recommendations to the Town of Canmore will support the ARP in cultivating a vibrant downtown that both residents and visitors want to live, work, play, andconnect.
